How to register as a government vendor

Vendor registration guides for all 50 states and 42 of the largest cities and counties: the official portal, how to register, which certifications count, and what is open now. Every portal links to its official source.

Facts checked

How registration works everywhere

Each government keeps its own vendor list. Registering with a state covers that state's agencies, not its cities; registering with a city covers that city, not its school district. Federal work needs a separate SAM.gov registration.

Registration is free on most government portals. It does not win you work by itself: it puts you on the notice list for your commodity codes and lets the buyer pay you once you win.
