Western Transmission Catalysts (WTC) is a multi-partner initiative held at the University of Calgary that advances inter-provincial electricity transmission across Western Canada. The initiative brings together Indigenous Nations, governments, electricity system operators, utilities, industry, and other strategic partners to address barriers to transmission development through research, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration. WTC seeks to advance economic competitiveness and affordability, Indigenous partnership and economic reconciliation, clean energy integration, and Canada's long-term energy resilience.
